Update following global IT outage

We would like to thank our patients for their understanding following the global IT outage that affected all of our practices on Friday 19th July. Please see a statement from NHS Somerset below:

Update on accessing care from your GP following the global IT outage Monday 22 July

Following the global IT outage on Friday 19th July, which affected our GP IT systems, they are now back online.

We apologise for any difficulties and concerns you may have experienced with accessing care through your GP or pharmacy; including contacting your GP via the phone, e-consults, booking appointments and ordering prescriptions through the NHS App.

Our GP practices remain open and patients with an NHS appointment this week and you should continue to attend unless your GP advises you not to.

Thanks to the hard work of NHS staff including our GPs in Somerset, we are hoping to keep further disruption to a minimum. However, there still may be some delays as services recover, particularly with GPs needing to rebook appointments, so please remain patient with us.

  1. Booking an appointment: there may be delays in booking new appointments. We are doing our best to accommodate everyone as quickly as possible.
  2. Response times: Our response times to calls, digital requests and emails may be slower than usual. We are prioritising urgent cases and will get back to you as soon as we can.
  3. NHS app: response times to digital requests for repeat prescriptions may take longer than usual so please be patient

We appreciate your co-operation and patience as we navigate through these challenges. Our primary goal is to ensure you receive the best possible care, and we are committed to resolving these issues swiftly.

Thank you for your continued understanding and support.
